 | The purpose of life is a life of purpose | Jun 29, 2005 |
Hi, Welcome to my Den, I'm Dan and I'm from Penang(Seberang Perai), Malaysia. This website is about things I love to do. I love to be near to nature, naturally I also love outdoor activities .... I’m a hiker/trekker, a SCUBA diver, a budget/backpack traveler, a nature type photographer, a net surfer, a 10-pin bowler, occasional marathon runner and an agnostic who do not believe in the existence of any supernatural power, ghost, reincarnation, heaven, hell, black magic/voodoo, spirit or gods and feels a personal duty and obligation to live by a set of principles, standards of conduct and philosophy in hopes of living in peace with fellow human beings
The purpose of life is a life of purpose. ~Robert Byrne A life without cause is a life without effect. ~Barbarella Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. ~Leonardo da Vinci
So .... my cause, my purpose of life would be:
1. Scuba diving - I wish to dive all the most well known dive sites in South East Asia for now. 2. Photography - Nature, Landscape, Macro and Travel, I love to pick up Street and Abstracts too 3. Backpack traveling to exotic Asian countries - I wish to visit all SEA countries for now especially UNESCO sites 4. Hiking mountains & Trekking forests & Waterfalls - I wish to complete G12(12 tallest mountains in Malaysia) in my lifetime - Completed in May 2011 5. And a bit of running whenever possible...I track them here - http://www.dailymile.com/people/danlowal
I feel that life is really short, our time here is limited, and so we should take charge of our own lives, to make full use of our potentials and live life to the fullest. We should not live our lives under the fear of failure, cultural influences, parental and societal expectations, peer pressure, etc. If we do not take charge of our life, then someone else like your boss, friends or even your parents will have a plan for you. And you will probably fall in somebody else’s plan. Remember, you only live once. If Armageddon should come tomorrow; dare to say “I have no regrets, I have lived and done it all” …. are you able to say that today? - Perhaps the BN government knows this is the beginning of the end for them. That may well explain why government leaders are terrified of a people's movement demanding clean and fair elections. They probably know that if elections are held on a level-playing field without manipulation and fraud, they will be swept out of Putrajaya by a tidal wave.
- I was at Hatyai Marathon 2010 (30 May 2010), a bit of a summary here, registration was 500baht on the spot, collection was a bit messy, but ok, Dry fit vest is nice, Finisher 42.195km T-shirt is a nice dry-fit too, water station at every 2km all the way(redbull, water, air sirup, water melon), supporters are cool(drums, sing, etc), route is flat all the way and their traffic marshals did a splendid job ... although I did very bad, got bad a blister at 27km, dragged until 36km and walked the remaining 6km coz of it. Took me 1:25hrs to walk the final 6km sigh. Overall time was 5:34hrs.
- Which is better? Nexus One or HTC Desire?
- What is wrong with the weather?!?!?!?!? So hot!!!!!!!! Day and Night
